Salesperson turnover is a fact of field operations. What should not turn over is the dealer's history — visits, open orders, collection rhythm, scheme enrolments, and the context of the last three conversations.
When that history lives in personal WhatsApp and notebooks, reassignment is painful. The new rep starts cold. The dealer repeats themselves. HQ loses months of pattern data.
Reassignment without reset
A distributor-grade system keeps the dealer as the persistent object:
- Visits, orders, and collections stay on the dealer record.
- Role-scoped access moves with territory changes.
- Managers see continuity, not a blank slate.
This is also a data-governance issue. Each salesperson's scope should be enforced in the database — not only hidden behind UI filters. See Why each salesperson's data scope belongs in the database.
For the relationship continuity angle, read When a salesperson leaves, your dealer history should not on FieldAXIS.
